7 Biblical Financial Principles

by Daniel Tong

  1. Everything belongs to God, and we are merely His stewards (1 Chronicles 29:14 and Psalm 24:1)

  2. God is more than able and will meet all our needs ( Matthew 6:25-34 and Philippians 4:19)

  3. Be responsible for the care of God’s house and kingdom work (Exodus 35:22 and Malachi 3:10)

  4. Care for the poor, particularly widows and orphans (Proverbs 22:9 and Luke 10:34-35)

  5. Work hard so as to be better able to bless others (Acts 20:35 and Romans 15:1)

  6. When giving, give cheerfully, generously and without fanfare (Matthew 6:1-3 and 2 Corinthians 9:7)

  7. Beware the trap of covetousness and greed (Ecclesiastes 5:10 and 1 Timothy 6:10)
